Stay Sharp

3 new songs. I had the pleasure of hearing them early. Recorded at the new Clay Creek Studios in Delaware by Nick Rotunda. The recoding and producing is on point. The drums are aggressive, and don't sound overproduced. The guitars and bass are ripping and up-front without burying the vocals. There is very little production and no studio tricks on the vocals which is great.

Stay Sharp is above all, an inspiring live band to see. No frills, gimmicks or stage antics. The focus is their set, and they deliver it well. This recording captures them they way they should be. Nicks talents as an engineer are present throughout, but he really let the production take the backseat in the songs.

The first two songs really feel like old dc hardcore, intriquite riffs that are unpredictable, but still fun and memorable. The music however, is very much harder then their first release without sacrificing the hooks. The lyrics take a different direction then their first release and it works really well. With only 3 songs, they really hit home with what its like to be at this age, overworked and have a really great social awareness without spelling everything out literally.

These songs made my heart beat a little faster and made me remember just how loud music my car speakers can go without peaking. They also reminded me why I got into this music in the first place. Hardcore Punk the way it should be. Get into it.
